Drivers seat - Seat belt connector punctured leather

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

MY seat belt connector punctured the leather on the bottom part of the drivers seat, after shutting the door and getting jammed in it.

Anyone know if the bottom cover is replaceable, how it comes off, and is it a buyable replacement, or a cut up job of an old leather jacket and stitch a new panel in to it?

Stupid seatbelts.........(I know, they help save lives....)

Just to update, spoke to capitol skoda (newport) this morning and got quoted all of the following.....

Wheel bolt covers: £0.18+VAT each

Locking Wheel bolt covers: £0.55+VAT each

Wheel centre caps: £6.09+VAT each

Drivers Seat Base Cover: £148.56+VAT

Clips for above: £0.14+VAT

Drivers floor mat: £21.81+VAT

St of 4 floor mats: £87.24+VAT

So, 150 quid plus vat for the bottom drivers seat cover...... WOW

Are those mats the vrs ones ???

Well, thats what I asked them to quote for, so I'm assuming it is.

I have asked them to get me the drivers one, as my others are in pretty good nick.

More gutted about the leather though....

Mine seat is ripped as well :(

I'll be fooked if I'm paying that much mind you lol .......Wheres my black insulation tape ;)

Let me know if those mats are vrs ones when you get it :thumbup:

As I was trying too get some yesterday from TPS, with not much luck :(

i've been on ebay and seen vrs seats for sale cheaper than that.i suppose if u buy the passenger side with less wear and put the drivers side base on it it will look like new for a fraction of what skoda charge.

Yep, it was the Vrs logo'd mat, got the wheel bolt covers and centres too

Good job I ordered a full set of bolt covers as they arrived black and mine were silver.

Not that bothered and hoping that they will make the car look a little different.....

Im after a NSR seat base due to a friend putting a fag burn in itT*** if any one else is up for it id be happy to chip in to a set of second hand seats it's gotta be cheaper if a few of use need different seat covers

The only other option I'm looking at is to strip the cover out, unstitch the damaged panel, buy a black leather jacket from a charity shop, use the panel as a template, cut if out of the jacket, and stitch back together.

My wifes auntie is a demon on a sewing machine......

You can have the panels replaced at an upolsterers cheaper than a seat doctor, find out locally.:)
