Do I have the wrong tyre size?

Featured Replies

Just looking for new tyres for my 02 plate Fabia 1.9TDi. According to the tyres they are 185/60R14 (all of them).

Just checked the eBay and Kwik Fit checkers of my vehicle reg and they both say I should have 165/70 R14 81 T

This is the first time I've bought tyres for this car so I'm sure what might have been done previously. Any ideas what I should be looking for?

Cheers,

James

The 185/60/R14 are the correct tyre size for your car

Yeah, quick-fit site doesn't seem to know about the alloys that came on the elegance.. did them same thing to be when I had my Y plate one.. just go with the size that's on the car.. if you really wanna be sure then check the spare as well, it might not be original but it's less likely to be the wrong size if all 5 are that size as I don;t think people would change all 5 at the same time.

You can fit 165/70 R14, but that is a very narrow tyre and it would not inspire confidence in corners. Would give better economy slightly though.

Any reputable retailers to check on prices? I see lots of people talking about toyos and uniroyal but can't find them online let alone with mobile or local garage fitting...
