Another new boy joins the club!

Can anyone offer any help or advice as to why my Octavia (1.9 Tdi) keeps conking out on me? One minute I'm happily cruising along (Usually in town) when the engine just cuts out completely. I pull over and try to restart the car and it usually fires first time.

I seem to recall some mention somewhere that it might be down to the fuel system. It's done this twice this week, I'm a bit worried about my next motorway trip!!

IIRC its a common problem that is usually traced to a faulty relay 109... maybe try replacing that, as its only a couple of quid

if you do a search for "sudden Death Syndrome" should turn up some results..

A friend had this problem with his 1.9TDi and was close to despair. Various fixes were tried but changing relay 109 has permanently cured the problem.
