Awesome GTi Bits Review

Featured Replies

well today i had an few bit installed my awesome gti on my 06 Octy VRS 2.0 TFSi. so here is the review on the parts:

1 - Neuspeed Power Pulley Kit - this kits is awesome that is the only word i can discribe this to you. the car spools up faster through out the rev range and in every gear, plus you dont have to fast the accelerator that much. how this work is the oem crank pully is very heavy compared to the neuspeed one (which is 10 time lighter), so the engine uses less force to turn the pully.

2 - Neuspeed Hi-Flow Turbo Discharge Conversion Kit - with this kit i personaly think that the car has gone more sharper on the acclerator (or it could be just me). plus i think the forge DV has gone quiter (and again it could just be me). the way i think this could happen is the discharge pipe is connected to the forge DV, sine its an upgraded 1 bigger bore size it has less pressure inside the pipe so there for the forge DV is quiter (correct me if im wrong)

3 - Forge Short Shifter and Side Shift - well what can i say i has both of this on the shortest setting and O MY GOD!!! it is short. i would say the up and down shift is reduced by 50% as well as the side ways movement. when using it the shift feels more soild and more accurate ( i would recommend every one for this mod).

thanks for reading

Sarah, are the pulley kit and short shifter available for the 1.8TFSi? If so, how much are they?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt

Sorry my dear :( the power pulley kits , no

The short shifters though and side shifter will be OK :D

Sarah

Hi Sarah

Dont know whether the shifters of the MQ350 and MQ250 gearboxes are the same.

As the 1.8TSI has the smaller MQ250 gearbox and not the MQ350 as delivered on the bigger diesels and the RS. ;)

Some nice bits there - and what would the price of each of these be? :)

Did you have them all fitted at the same time, at Awesome?

Hi

Yes the price was £198 + VAT for the fitting on that little lot ;)

Sarah

Personally I wouldn't have bothered with the power pulley - you will see very little gain from it, especially for how much it costs!

i wuold not say lilttle gain, is more useful to pick up revs when you need to and its less strain on the engine to move the parts. every lilttle helps
