things i DON'T like about my octavia

Featured Replies

its been a pleasure so far but:

the seats,no support what so ever when giving it pasty, and the silver is cack to keep clean.

climatronic:far too low and near to the gear stick, buttons too small to use when driving.

rattly plastic, now hopefully solved with felt inserts

coilpacks:now chnged nuff said

intermitent,MAF probs, more to come on that

rear seat belt harnesses:when theres two kids in the back theres bugger all room to clip them both in with ease.

head unit:could it be anymore useless???

on the whole i'm well happy with the car, these are just some niggles i wanted to vent.passing a civic type r made me grin at its performance

And when you open the hatch if its wet you get a boot and rear speakers full of water

civic type r made me grin at its performance

quicker than a civic type r? yours a standard vRS?

Totally with you on these ones Jason. Lost count of the times i've had to apply the brakes rather sharpley due to spending 30 seconds trying to find the button to turn on the damn aircon!

had the pleasure of that last night unloading stuff ,bit cr4p ain't it? :(

Where's the fun if it was 100% perfect? ;)

Can't really say I've had issue with any of the things you listed apart from the seat inserts but I knew about that when I bought mine....oh and the water off the rear hatch.

My only issue is rear seat space and there's nowt I can do about that.

I think the real issue is that there is NOTHING fundamentally wrong with the car and as owners, we're only happy when we find something wrong. Nothing wrong with that....just nit picking isn't it?. :D

well i'm quite happy to be able to count on the fingers of one hand the things i don't like, totallly outweighed by the things i do like, but we brits like a whinge ,its genetic

Those bloody pale carpets ! , Oh and seats with the body hugging ability of a bar stool :(

i think the idea was for us all to drive in slippers, looks great but is as practical as something really unpractical.

i may be adding MAF sensor to my list shortly

I don't think there's anything about the car that i dislike, however i've changed a few things that could be better ;)

i like changing things, things that make it go quicker/round bends/stop .i hate wasting money on things that are crap by design.

I disagree about the seats, I've covered over 45,000 miles since June last year and find them VERY comfortable. I accept they don't hold you as well in the corners as some "bucket" style sports seats, but try sitting in them for a few hours every day and see which you prefer !

The Climatronic buttons are quite small and hard to find, but on the other hand I've set mine to 18 degrees when I bought the car and hardly touched it since.

The gap for the footrest next to the clutch is too small for my size 12s too - I've got to be careful !

The white carpets aren't the best idea (I work on a construction site).

The boot opening -> speaker soaking problem is annoying !

I don't think the head unit is that bad, okay it's not top quality ICE but compares reasonably with the standard equipment you get in most modern cars.

My biggest complaint is about the quality of the paintwork (Black Magic Metallic) - I cannot believe how many stone chips I've got in the bonnet. Yeah, I do drive fast on country roads but then so do my colleagues and their cars aren't nearly as bad as mine.

I don't find them that great...not great on support and that, and I usually get backache on long journeys...I guess something like that is very subjective though!

It's not even base-quality ICE...cheapest aftermarket HU money can buy is better! I've never had one so bad in any other cars I've come across within the last 6 years...

can i add a sticking starter motor to my list of gripes???i'm bl00dy jinxed:(

I hate the gear box! The seats are a pain in the hole. HU ****ed that out the window the day i picked it up. Suspension is pants changed that to. Fair play to any1 who drives a standard one!
