Car damaged before delivery?

Featured Replies

Once, and only up to 100 miles.

Are you sure? I'm fairly certain that all VAG cars actually work in metric (km etc.) and convert to miles as a final display. So 100 miles would be unlikely.

I was pretty sure until I did some searching and now I'm not so sure any more. A post by Ross (as his alter ego Techie) suggests that it can be done twice and up to 100 miles. But I'm sure big k told me once that it could only be done once...

Since taking delivery of my Superb, I've noticed a small ding in the rear dumper just underneath the boot lid.

Didn't notice it on delivery, as it looked just like a load of other small blacks marks which were caused by rain when the car was being transported down to me.

Pointed it out to the dealer when I went to get some oil, and they immediately agreed to fix it. This was about 4 weeks after delivery.

They also did the Xenon adjustment for european driving FOC as well.

So far, a good result as far as the dealer experience is concerned.

Bagpuss.

Actually Skoda's policy on pre-delivery damage is probably about the best in the Industry.

No vehicle which requires a 'filler' repair or requires more than two panels to be painted can be sold as new. Cars in this condition can only be registered as a demonstrator or courtesy car.

Believe me, this is very different from the majority of manufacturers.

So thats how Denis got his Octy 4x4 in that colour....as a demo it had been resprayed in that colour..

After seeing cars dockside at Sheerness, it is very obvious other manufacturers dont follow this policy
