Fabia Relays electric windows?

Featured Replies

Both my electric windows stopped working. no power but all fuses are ok. I know there are relays under the dash is there one for the electric windows there if so does anyone know which one,

Or anyone any other thougths

Help Plz

Have you pulled the fuses, or just looked at them through the little slot? It's worth pulling them out for 10 seconds or so to reset the controller, as this sometimes can go belly-up. If this works, you will need to reset the one-touch by raising the windows and holding the button 'up' until you hear the wonder motor relax (about 3 or 4 seconds)

Ok a bit of an update took out the switch panel drivers side out it has power to one of the pins so power is getting there just not sure if only one pin brings in power as this also does the door lock button which is working. dont know how i can test this part and has this part been faulty on someone else

So put it all back together now drivers side works but not passengers checked voltage at the pass side and it varies from 5 to 9 volts. Based on this I suspect the control switch drivers side is defective so I will try to source a second hand one and ring up to find cost of new unless someone knows rough price

I think I've still got one spare in my garage. PM me your address and you can have it for nothing...

sounds like a passenger door comtrol unit/motor rather then switch those voltage readings sound about right try unpluging the control unit and retry it normally sorts it out for a while there are modified parts for this fault!!!!

Just be wary they dont run on 12v, usually running on or around 5v and thats altered by a series of resistors in the pack itself (thats how you get so many functions out of five pins usually). No relays in the system, just control units. There are two fuses for the windows bit they are thermal fuses that reset once cooled.

Where are the two thermal fuses located? is the part on the drivers door with the switches the control unit. The one on the passenger side just seems to be a switch.

The control unit is built into the window motor.

Sorry again are the fuses in the unit built in to the unit or is it something that can be checked and or replaced

Hi i have a similar problem. Both windows are dead.

Opened the door panel, checked the voltage on switch and it seem fine.

Even taken the fuse out for hours and still the same problem.

Windows don't respond with the key.

Is there a relay or a comfort module - if yes where are these located?

Or could it be something with the ECU?

Please if anyone has a fix or could advice me i would really appropriate this. Thank you. Josh

Has anyone been able to solve this problem?

I am having the same issues as Josh.

I bought a new driver switch and they started working. Then as started building the door back together and the window switch stopped working again.

I'm thinking the problem maybe the Electrical System Control Unit and where is this located?

Any suggestions will be helpful, thanks!

Check all the wires for breakage inside the flexible connector between the door and the A post.

DB.

Thanks, DB.

Had a look before and it's all fine with the wires. I think it could be the Electrical System Control Unit because now the new switch will not work, and it is a genuine Skoda one. I think the ESCU could be sending too high of a voltage to the drivers side and thats whats killing them.

i had a problem with my front windows when i bought my fabia mk1 . no windows working  . checked switches power to motor  and fuses . all ok .then i noticed when i removed one of the fuses for 30 secs then replaced it they would start working . i spliced the wiring before the fuse box and was goin to use a separate switch . but wat i found out eventully was because my rear doors were leaking water in to the car it was causing havoc with the electrics . so before you go changing switches motors and comfort control mods check for wet carpets in the back . i checked every wire in the drivers door loom for continuity. and they were fine . i found that when it rained really heavy the next day my windows didnt work

Has no one got an  idea if there is a window relay and if so where is it !!!!! I think it’s a relay issue mine where working fine last night no issues got in it this morning boom dead as a dodo fuses don’t look blown door locker works so only thing I can think is relay surely it’s not like they’ve been intermittent or randomly working they where spot on now nothing get me wind ups any day :-(

There is a relay within the window motor module, but it's soldered to the PCB, so not totally easy to replace if it were faulty.

Check the  wires in the door bellows (oh, and sort your wrong oil out before ECP close).

I agree with wind up windows BTW.

Random but it ****ed it down hard last night now it’s warmed up and dry I got back in it they work again I recon water Gerri g in somewhere hope they don’t stick down thanks @Wino

blue 4you. Hi. Did you ever get the problem sorted?

Was it the Electrical System Control Unit?
