Whiteline RARB fitting help please!

Featured Replies

Hi just looking for some help, i bought a whiteline RARB for my 04 fabia vrs and am a bit puddled on how it clamps on to the rear beam, the fitment seems to be rather shocking, ive looked through some posts but cant really find what im looking for, the C clamp doesnt seem to be big enough to go round and just generally looks like a rubbish fit. what have people done to make theirs fit (worried about adjusting it as it needs to fit into the bracket)? plus the nuts that came with it are too small for the thread.

Anyone else had this problem? i was expecting better for £135 tbh..:o

Any help much appreciated as i really want to get it on as i know there good once fitted lol

David;)

The clamps will be fine. Get it on and get level.

If your worried, look on the net for other fixing kits. like Merlin Motorsport at Castle Combe.

yeah just unsure as surely the clamp will be rubbing on the axle, theres no bush or anything so im worried about it knocking or ruining the thread on the clamp in time if its always in contact?

If your THAT worried about it, i'll take it and run the risk for you ;):rofl:

DIY and Worry, got to love that combination. This item effects handling, so please take it to a garage.

Or find someone local to you that has already fitted one........

So they can slap it on the same way as i would but not give two ****s and charge me a load of labour?

:)Cheers:thumbdwn:

just seems a bit bodge to say its made for this car, but il put in on tomorow and see what i reckon:)

you need to bend the c-clamp apart slightly and it fits fine.

not sure waht you mean about the nuts not going on though

the nuts that came with the kit are too small so i went to buy some different ones today!

What did you use to bend the clamp mate? surely the bracket wont fit right if i do that?

i thought they came with some bushes to stop it actually touching the axle ???

the only bush is the one where the arb sits into, the c clamp doesnt have one so your constantly ruining the thread trying to push it over so you can get the clamp on, ive bent it a tad so it fits over and then i cant get the bracket over it, how hard is it to supply a fitting kit that actually fits?

Have you contacted the place you got it from to ask for the right fitting kit? Whiteline ARBs have been the subject of several posts on these and other forums about the 'fits where it touches' aspect of the product.

Cut your losses, send it back and buy the Jabba one - it definitely fits.

its designed for the polo 9n, not the fabia which has a thicker rear axle

I don't recall anyone having you specific problems but your expectations are way out. The Whiteline is the cheaper of the RARB solutions (And it does a great job for the money) for the Fabia nut as mentioned it's not a specific fit, if you want this type of quality you would have been better off with the Jabba bar which is £200

That said I am surprised it didn't have the right nuts especially as they are all the same size. Whiteline have great customer service so if you worried you should gert in contact with them

Should look something like this. (Although with the nuts actually tight)

If you posted pictures of your issue perhaps we could get to the bottom of it?

The clamps that i was given in the pack are not as long as the ones shown in your photo, they barely go round the axle, and then you have to allow room for the dbush and the bracket, there just not long enough, my friend and i found it impossible to fit on, if awesome gti could provide me with some longer clamps i would be happy! ive already fitted the droplinks so all i need are the right c clamps!

This posting seems to exactly mirror a posting on www.seatcupra.net - same "can't go round beam" problem and wrong sized nuts - maybe you should compare your problems with the Ibiza poster!

The clamps that came with my kit (whiteline) were alot longer and a bit chunkier than them! Went on first time no problems!

I'm trying to decide between this bar and the Jabba one also. Previously it has been mentioned that the Jabba one is £100 more but I've worked it out to be £72 more (factoring in delivery in the UK).. Decisions..

Mine went on with no problems.
