Skoda Badge Concept (ish)

Featured Replies

***edit **** home now and the retro version would probably be easier to produce than the concept version and could probably be brushed stainless steel effect rather than grey - unless grey is preffered

Once i have the sample I'll get some pics taken and see who's interested :D

Cool, I think the stainless look would be best. Looking forward to seeing this!

ok sample is in

due to a slight error with the tape measure (i didn't use one and guessed) it's neither alloy centre cap size or bonnet/boot size but somewhere in the middle!

Plastic section finished with brushed stainless steel effect

printed with the black section you can see

then covered in a clear resin dome

Pricing for bonnet/boot badges measuring 80mm across would be around the £8

with centre caps measuring 55mm across being around £6

however should we get orders for enough items this could be haggled down a bit

After a conversation with the manufacturer there may be an option for changing the stainless steel to red/blue/yellow to match body work if the need arises.

Let me know what anyone thinks and we'll gauge interest for a group buy :)

im still up for some they look good nice job!

I see you mentioned about changing the center part to colour code the car, is there a white option maybe?

I'll be up for a front/back set.

Front and back for me. What about the steering wheel badge?

I don't think centre caps will work with my steels

, is there a white option maybe?

is your car not red?! :P i'll ask the question though but shouldn't be a problem

What about the steering wheel badge?

should be ok as it is essentially the same thing as the bonnet/boot badges.

although you'd need to check how the current one is attached as the replacement wouldn't be flexible so wouldn't be able to be fixed to a curved surface......

someone with answers will be along shortly!

i'll stick up a group buy thread later on and fish for more interst although if anyone fancies infecting the other forum sections go ahead

I'll take the Fabia section then.

yer it is red... but i think white and black would look better on my car :D (although i would like to see colour options maybe?) being a numpty are the 55mm centre caps the ones for the alloys?

i've asked the questions - it may also be possible to change the colour of the printer as well as the material so if the above is silver material with black print you could in theory have silver with red print or red matierial with balck print... so many options!

yup 55mm is the width of the OEM centre caps pop them out - large blob of evostik/no more nails - leave to dry - put back in

Any chance of Dark Blue?

I like the sample and would probably have to for that colour as my car is cappacino.

looking forward to the group buy.

sounds great, i would go with both wheels and badges bring on the group buy!

...now what colours do i get?

I like that a lot :D

me and the other half would be interested also. black and brushed alloy bonnet and wheel centres for me and black and yellow for the mrs.

I`d be up for a front an rear set

do these have flat backs?

mite be easier to work with than the arched back oe bonnet badges

i was thinking to myself what badges i could use in the middle of the wheels next :D

but id need bonnet and boot?

did you say they are abit smaller than the oe bonnet/boot badge tho?

hmmm? but would there be a chance of skoda green instead of the black? if need be?

lol fully polished and balck would be usfull,/ woudl match the whell centres then lol or is that being greedy

I'd be interested in front and back, will then fit on nicely? IE: the front grill has a sounded section where the badge sits, would the nu one fit as snuggly?

Whereabouts can you get these from and any update on a group buy??

hmmmm id go for 1 with the winged arrow in black and the bacgrownd silver....

You'll have a job mate, they're now obsolete (sp) god knows I've tried ordering some new ones since from several dealers

Old new unused badges pop up on ebay occasionally. Jonny5ive's badge looks like a Mk1 Fav badge to me? The later ones had the Skoda Auto text on.

yes flat backs

when i requested the sample I didn;t mearuse anything and as a result the sample i have is 60mm across with the centre caps being 55mm or bonnet/boot badges being 80mm

final items will be these correct size and the random sample i have will go in the bin

hmmm? but would there be a chance of skoda green instead of the black? if need be?

Green on silver might be possible - i'm waiting for confirmation on colour availability

you need more polished than the stainless steel finish in the sample?

as far as i am aware the OEM badges are flat backed and 80mm in diameter and the new ones be exacly the same so it should be a just a piece of hefty double sided tape and robert is your mother's bother

New thread openned in the group buy section for people to show their interest and for me to put an order together - http://briskoda.net/group-buys-promotions/skoda-retro-replacement-badges/143101/

hmmmm id go for 1 with the winged arrow in black and the bacgrownd silver....

colour reverse from the sample shoud be possible just waiting for confirmation.

In addition to the above post i've done a couple of quick photoshops to show roughly what they look like on a car..... I'm still trying to decide whether to swap or not..... Though i am swaying towards swapping at the moment. :)

Cheers

Dave.

i could make them as stickers to go over the originals.

i dont do 'domed' badges or the like, just stickers.

would be silver and black, not brushed, @ £5/pair of 80mm stickers.

sounds like a good idea

How many do you need to make to make it worth your while?
