Came out to the car this morning and some ****er has kicked my drivers side wing mirror off and left a mark on the door :thumbdwn:

luckily the mark came out with t-cut however the mirror casing appears to have snapped off the baseplate and was hanging by the wiring.

The glass is intact, as is the painted casing, and the electronics work OK.

Will I need a new baseplate and new mirror base? What are my options/?

some folk cant leave anything alone! dont know how much from the stealers, but you could always try a scrappy?

had a similar thing not so long ago..luckily for me it was just the body coloured casing that was cracked...

about £85 for the replacement (which had to be painted) plus labour all from the dealer

fraid not im in the same boat and have been searching for a replacement drivers side one for ages!!

You would have thought it would be easy to get?!?!?!? What about the likes of fleabay?

I think at least part of the mirror is the same as those used on the mk1 octy, although I am not sure which bits.

You were lucky mine had an encounter with an speeding ch@v coming the other way, got clipped, end result broken casing, mirror smashed, electrics broke. got quoted by Simpsons in Preston £85 for the mirror and £50 to respray the correct colour. Ended up going to a scrapyard (30 miles away near Liverpool) and picked one up for £50 then a local bodyshop resprayed it for £20, even with the fuel costs still cost less than the dealer.

I broke one on my Fabia reversing into the garage when it was almost brand new. Was about £130-140 for replacement and repaint.

When local Salford scum kicked mirrors off my Astra (twice) I got a pattern part in black, used plastic primer/paint/lacquer and sprayed to correct colour. Not sure if pattern part mirror available for Fabia?

Luckily the painted part isnt damaged and I think that clips off am I right?

Hi new user. same thing happened but it was my passenger wiper arm completely snapped off. Now can't get remaining part of arm off to replace it even after soaking in WD40 to loosen. Any adeas?
