No light behind instrument swithces

Featured Replies

Exactly,

I have no light behind the 3 swithces for the cooling/heating functions in my Felicia LX Combi (number 59 on the wiring diagram)...

I've opened the dashboard and found the following:

The violet wire brings the power tot the lights. It then (through 2 connectors) go to the yellow socket (C -3) behind the board (it draws power from it)...

Since I've tested the wires with the battery disconnected, everything seems to be ok...

So, I guess the dashboard doesn't power the 2 bulbs behind the 3 switches... The bulbs 38 and 39 from the dashboard were also blown (changed them and they work now), and they're connected to the same wire, so I think that there's a mess in the dashboard... :(

Is it smart to cut the violet wire and connect it to another source?

What do You think?

Hello all,

where can i find this diagram?  which is the source?

Thanks a lot.

Cesar

That illustration comes originally from Russia. It applies to Felicia 1.3 with carburetor before 1998.

There is no higher resolution of it.

I answered in your topic about headlight switch pinouts. You have now everything you need to restore the original wiring. Aren't you happy with my drawings I made for you?

Hi Ricardo,

Thanks a lot for the images of the switches. Thanks to that y wired all the harnnes (well, part of it). I also found a melted cable.

Now I have some problems in the dashboard, the  sidelight indicator, hand brake indicator and the high beam indicator are not working.

All the other warning ligths are working. any Idea?

Those indicator lights are not related, so there is not a common cause. I see 2 probable explanations:

  • the bulbs failed or are not making contact
  • bad wiring or PCB traces destroyed

It is very hard to diagnose electrical problems from a distance without seeing the PCB and the entire dashboard wiring, especially when somebody else modified it in an unprofessional way.

Well, vini vidi vinci:

All the bulls are ok (were tested).

1. sidelight indicator: Since the dashboard ligths work fine, could be the PCB, I will chek this weekend.

2. hand brake indicator: Works at the start, I cheked the hand brake switch and works fine.

3. high beam indicator: no idea

I will attack each indicator as different problems.

Thanks.

Cesar,

If you take out the PCB, take high resolution photos of it. Both sides, close up photos to cover the entire surface of PCB. If the PCB is dirty, clean it first with alcohol. I will tell you the same day what areas are suspect, what to measure and what to resolder.

This is an example of how a good photo looks like.

Ricardo thanks a Lot!!! I will check whit my multimeter rigth now.

After test WITH my multimeter.... not necessary really. The bulb had a bad contact.

The bulb had a bad contact.

I've told you. Typical. If you don't resolder the PCB, the contacts of all bulbs will fail. Just imagine what happens if low brake fluid level bulb is not working... or low oil pressure...

Now I found a very big problem. Two melted cables. I am afraid because I need to check all the harnes for other damaged sections.

What cables? Photo?

No blown fuse?

What cables? Photo?

No blown fuse?

Finally, I worked today again in my picukp.

This is the melted cable. Now I need this connectors : 6U0972505 and 6U0972505A, some idea where can I buy this connectors? Some idea to how dissasemble the connectors?
