Just like if you had ordered cc as a factory fit option

does it effect the warrenty? so there's noway that you'd be able to tell that its had cruise fitted afterwards? how does it work controlled by the ecu?

I really want a car with cruise but the dealer has one without that he's trying to swap with another dealer that has one with cruise.

There would be no warranty on the replacement cruise/indicator stalk, but the cost of replacing that wouldn't break the bank. In the case of Fabia and Octavia diesels, the wiring is already there in the engine bay. Petrol-engined Octavias - and maybe Fabias too - need a small loom between the fuse box and ECU which big k fabricates out of superior quality cable. The indicator/cruise stalk and steering column loom are original VAG parts. If your car is a diesel then the installation is undetectable; if petrol-engined the extra wiring can be only be found if the scuttle panel is removed. The ECU comes pre-programmed for cruise on all Fabias and Octavias and it is a straightforward and quick operation to enable it using a dealers' computer or VAG COM software. If you want cruise control then go ahead and get it fitted by big k if your dealer can't help. At least one member had his fitted by a SEAT dealer - in Hull, I believe.

AmD fit Cruise Control for dealers (but not on the Fabia as yet) and they fit it in the same manner as K so its gotta be allright.

a friend had this fitted at his local Skoda dealer a few weeks ago (Dumfries), no probs with it at all, looks the same as my factory fitted version.

took a couple of hours to fit so if your the first the garage has done you might pay more coz they'll be learning as they go along but once its common practice then it shouldn't be much more than factory fit
