Headlight washers

Featured Replies

Can any one tell me whether the headlight washers on a fabia run off the same pump as the windscreen washer pump.

I find that i am constantly topping up my washer bottle as it only holds 2 litres, and wondered whether the 4.5 litre bottle used on cars with headlight washers is a direct swap?

Its a seperate pump.

You can buy blanking grommets from Halfords and other car supply places. Just silcone seal it in place.

Silcone. Great stuff

While we're on the same subject:-

Do the headlight washers only work when the headlights are on?

Or do they work whenever you operate the windscreen washers?

Separate pump for windscreen & headlights, but are there separate reservoirs?

with lights only, hold the spray and it sprays the windscreen then after 1 - 2 seconds it sprays the lights so you can choose whether to spray one or both. must admit to being absolutely confused when i first started spraying my windscreen, i thought my lights kept dipping, i give myself a smack for that one

Only work when Headlights are on.

Beat me to it. :)

A bigger bottle would be wonderful. I did mean to ask my dealer about it a while ago but forgot.

I'd appreciate any details anyone has.

Thanks

Dave,

Yeah i'm gonna get one, but probably won't have enough time this weekend. If you do get one can you add a note to this thread with the grommet size required to blank off the spare pump outlet.

Cheers mate

Looks like it might be fun getting below the battery .... lots of scrapped knuckles or a half stripped out engine bay!

Thanks for the info

Best way to get to the washer bottle is to whip the front bumper off.

Will follow this one with interest... Please can some post a guide to how it was done, because I thinking the front bumper must have to come off yes?......
