Right i have £650 to spend on betsy when i return to UK on 1st May.

So what do i spend the money on.

These are my options that i can think of so far

1st -

Cornerweight setup for coilovers, which are currently setup by tape measure.

£150 Incl VAT

2nd-

Eibach front and rear anti roll bars £270 incl vat( will fit my self)

3rd-

whiteline rear anti roll bar 24mm adjustable £164 incl VAT

4th-

3" pipewerx downpipe and Cat £470

(will allow me to go to stage 2 with bluefin at no extra cost and will fit myself)

5th-

Whiteline anti lift kit £153

What do you guys think would make the most sense.

I will be frequenting the nurburgring quite abit over the summer since im only an hour away.

but I am open to other options

6th - give the money to me! :D

cant believe i never thought of that, how selfish of me.

I'd probably start with 1,2 and 3 and then keep the rest of the money and save some more to do the rest of the list

3 and 4 are my thinking so far

my other way of thinking was the handling

eibach front and rear ARBs, Walk, Corner weight setup for the coilovers.

with cash to spare

If you have coilovers then you really need to get them properly setup.. no point in messing around with other handling components until you've done that.

also one of my thoughts.

im just in the process of sending an email to balance motorsport for combined price for options 1, 2 and 5.

I can fit the rear anti roll bar however for the front ARB, and WALK it needs geometry re-aligned so trying for a full price.

the car is quick as it is. so id get a large benefit from the handling.

Take the back seats out before you go to the ring.. and the trim in the boot if you can hack it! It'll be much quicker!

i wish. few reasons why i wont though. 1st im far to lazy, and 2nd id have to put it back in again for the little un when i get back, and 3rd the wife would blow her top. she hates me doing stuff to the car anyway.

Are you an advanced driver? I heard someone say the best £500 was spent on a days handling lessons allowing them to get much more out of their car than they ever imagined. I guess you'll also need some new tyres!

Im way better than an advanced driver, im a sit at home armchair F1 critic.

Advanced lessons is definately something im going to look into. I have recieved instruction at previous trackdays which was invaluable.

As for tyres i still have prob another 6000 miles worth of tread on my fronts and my rears still have about 5mm and they have done 25000 miles.:)

Im trying to refrain from chasing bhp numbers. i think i would probably notice a bigger difference in fitting the ARBs, WALK and having the suspension setup, than going to uping to stage 2.

Go for the hardware, you can always have your car setup the way you want afterwards :D

Pipewerx and antirollbar. Dont get the car to stiff though, the ring needs a good amount of spring action ;)

OT: just 1 hour away from the green hell? Just about the same for me! ;)

Right then. i think im decided now.

I really want my car cornerweighted so that was a definate choice really.

And since I was in that department, I thought that i should carry on with the handling front. So I have decided on the WALK, and rear 24mm adjustable ARB as well.

realisticaly making my car much faster in the real world.

now waiting for a quote to have it all done now.

right im definately going to order my whiteline RARB and WALK and corner weight setup now from balance motorsport. they gave a good competitive price, and had an indepth informative discussion over the best parts to order for the results i want. The guy there seemed a real enthusiast, and actualy put himself out of a few pounds by reccomending cheaper yet better alternatives to what I asked for.

150 for corner weight setup, and only £80 to install the WALK and RARB, I supply the WALK and ARB

Plus im going the nurburgring this sunday so after its all fitted and setup I will nip down again then I'll post what improvements i have found.

Sy,

Don't bother with advanced driving. Civvy courses are way too expensive for what they teach:rolleyes: transfer to my lot and get it all plus lots lots lots more for free :D A 53 or C8 fired through a windscreen is awesome and you wont get that on any Civvy course :P

The mods you are doing will help no end with the handling however just remember that they won't turn you into Lewis Hamilton and the Nurburgring can catch you out if you haven't been before so take the first 3 or so laps easy ish then once your happy go for it

Either that or if you haven't done anything yet you can pay me £650 and i can teach you a few tricks and throw in a day on the Vehicle ranges we have ;)

I already have paperwork for such a thing in the pipeline, dont you worry bout that carl:cool:.

im not too much of a ring sprog though. Ive managed 14 laps although only 6 in the vRS. I'll definately be starting slow though. building up to some good laps, give me till the end of the year, im planning on at least 10-15 laps a month.

to be fair though i need to get a post somewhere with a runway system, although im happy with the ring so close, especially with summer nearly here

also ive watched enough gran prix to pull off some lewis hamilton stuff.(if he was **** faced maybe)

Don't tell any lies.... :D

Don't tell any lies.... :D

lol. all right ill tell the truth, im the stig. believe me. if you saw me in my white helmet and race suit you'd believe me. I just wanted you all to feel better bout yourselves,

Was a bit mean. If you read the papers about Lewis' disqualification in the first GP, you know what I was hinting at.

Well money is as good as spent now.

Im booked in at the ever friendly JKM to have 25mm Eibach Front and Rear Anti Roll Bars and a Whiteline Anti Lift Kit installed.

The only problem is I wont be able to tell what difference each mod has contributed to as its all going on in one go.

Ive also decided im going to get new tyres all round, since theres uneven wear on the fronts and a nail in one of the rears.

So what tyre then.....Only Joking!!:Otheres enough tyre threads on here to fill a nights reading. Vredestein Ultrac sessantas or eagle F1 assymetrics. Which ever is cheapest is going on. Case closed.;)

Then go for the goodies, better than the sessantas (and that although i am dutch ).

Best gripping tyre in the dry at the moment is (according to a recent test) the P zero.
