Just a feeler really, a friend of mine has recently started producing carbon fibre engine covers and has done a few for the vauxhall range and so on. (I will post some pics up of his work in a few days). Just wondered if there would be many of you lot that would be interested in engine covers, or any other ideas for carbon bits.

But not things such as doors and so on, keep it relatively simple for now

I think the engine cover sounds like a good idea, pretty sure it would be popular with a lot of folk on here.

Surely if you're that bothered about weight, you remove it completely? :confused:

There's been a few people offering carbon stuff, but you dont really hear much about it anymore........

I'd be interested on the cover and possibly some other bits, dependant on price etc etc etc

I don't think its abut weight saving, mainly aesthetics

If people are worried about weight saving, i dont think removing an engine cover would make all that much difference.............

lets be honest, who really has a carbon fibre engine cover for weight savings, its more to look pretty! Also what would you all say was a realistic price you'd pay for a carbon engine cover if one was to be made available?

Are we talking full carbon fibre or just wrapping the original?

I believe he does full carbon and also fibreglass base with a thin layer of carbon fibre over the top. Obviously though the full carbon fibre will be more expensive. I havn't got any prices as of yet but ill get him to send some pictures and more info seeing as there seems to be a bit of a market for it!
