Drivers Door clunking

Featured Replies

I have noticed that my drivers door is making a clunking noise. When I grab the bottom of the door and lift it upwards there is play in the top door pin. The nut is tight on it, so guessing the door pin is worn.

I removed the door lock mechanism but don't think there is any adjustment to that, so don't think issue is in tis area?

In searching for threads nothing seemed to come up for this. Can I purchase new door pins from Dealers.

Hi,

I just looked on Etka, not knowing what year your car is i did a search for 2000 / 2005 models. The hinge construction does not appear to change between both models.

The hinge appears to be a sold as an assembly, the bolts that secure it can be bought separately, there is no breakdown showing a hinge pin or part number for it.

Peter

NB: Have you tried adjusting the chrome striker plate on the door pillar, I had the same prob with a very old R/Rover, lowering it cured the problem until I fitted a new hinge assembly.
