Make leather steering wheel more tacky ?

Featured Replies

About the only complaint I have of the Fabby is the leather steering wheel is pretty slippy (more so when cold weather about).

Anyone use anything to make the wheel a bit more grippy ? (no rude suggestions please ).

Raspberry jam?

I mighta known :P

swap it for a Clio 182 steering wheel. Mine partially melted from the heat and became incredibly sticky. It's a common fault apparently

Give it a good clean, the only times I have problems with mine is when it starts to absorb all the oils from our skin. A good clean using lightly soapy water only should sort it out. Do NOT use a leather cleaner or conditioner on your steering wheel, it will make it even more slippery.

Taa, Manyo. Will give this a try.

Have never used leather cleaner or conditioner, only sometimes wiped rim with excess from upholstery cleaner.

And, yes, resorted to wearing leather gloves at times in cold weather - but don't like them really.

Similar to Mr Newman, but I managed to get one in black. There is no substitute for proper grain leather on a steering wheel!

I echo the driving gloves suggestion.

Sandpaper

double sided sellotape, you become very stuck to the idea.
