What car wax do you use

Featured Replies

Just wondered what peoples opinions were on car wax, I tend to like stuff thats quick and easy and gets great results, One wax product i have tried is called Spray & Shine which i bought from a company called netcarparts really impressed with it you can use it even on a dirty car and it has special things in it to prevent scratching of the paint although i have only tried this varient once I do find that the product itself gets great results and lasts a while.

So what does everyone else use?

Collinite 476s gets raved about quite alot on the internet. Generally because it lasts ages I think (tin claims a year but I imagine maybe 6 months is more realistic), and gives a good finish - and comparing well with others taking the price into account. Have bought myself a can but not used it yet.

Question might be more suited to styling and car care section but I'm sure mods will move if needed :)

Here's a post about 476s http://briskoda.net/styling-car-care/first-time-collinite-476s/143277/

collinite 476 every few months, but normally after every wash (or most washes) i use Autoglymm aqua wax which can be used on wet cars, just spray on and wipe off and is great for removing water marks.

476s and 915. I also have Dodo juice Blue velvet for the race blue vRS.

476 is said to be the best for lighter coloured cars.

Try posting this into the car care section and you might get more replies. Where is Baker21 when you need him??

Thread moved to styling and car care.

I change my wax too often for my own good  I'm still liking Supernatural but the car is wearing a coat of Z concours at the moment.

I also use dodo wax, but if I'm in a hurry a good spray of mequires QD just after she is washed and about to dry off is good!

Thanks for moving the thread

Some good varieties here seems the 476 gets a good recomendation, I am also one for swapping and changing what type/brand of wax that gets used.

Another thumbup for dodo juice

Bilt-hamber Autobalm with a coat of Collinite 915 as a topper with or Dodo Juice Red Mist QP as final layer

Awesome!!

swissvax bos for me,car shines like a bitch after

Actually im using 2 products : CarPlan T-Cut and AG (black one) i think called ULTRA DEEP SHINE .

Try some P21S very easy to use and great on dark colours! Though think it's called R222 now.

After using too many polishes that I care to remember, am now using Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine. Brings my Corrida Red vRS up a treat, though does require some 'elbow grease'!!!

Please please dont use T-Cut..... Its too aggressive and will damage your paint.

You would be far better using Autoglym Super Resin polish (If you need to polish) and adding AG Ulta Gloss afterwards or better still BHAB..followed by Collinite and/or Dodo Juice Red Mist as a topper.

Big fan of collinite 476s here :D mainly due to having not used anything else, but it IS awesome!

I'm using nattys blue which is easy to put on and easy to remove. It also leaves a nice wet look to the paint

and i've also noticed it does seem to keep the water beading for quite some weeks after... as i used it for the first time about 5 weeks ago now, and the rain still beads nicely when we have some showers.. really impressed for the price...

am about to try dodo juice red mist too.. so will let you know how that is for a quick top up

I am now a convert to Harlys down to cost and longevity. Two tubs about £30 just started on my second after nearly two years maintaning 3 cars. Lasts up to 6mths depending on use mileage.

Steve.

Megs Gold Class for me. May order some Coli-thingie-stuff, heard good things about it

AG UDS or Megs Gold Class. Also Megs NXT if only a quick top up shine required.
