On Saturday I decided I’d go windsurfing. So loaded up the octy and off I went to the beach. I assembled my rig and board, then my phone rings… It’s the wife, she has broken down a few miles from our house, so I de-rigged, loaded up the car again and set off to rescue my stranded wife. When I finally get there after following the slowest driver on the planet I ask her a few questions about what happened, apparently her MX-5 ran rough for a bit then the battery light came on and the car died. I looked under the bonnet for anything obvious but found nothing….

Then it occurred to me that maybe she ran out of fuel, but then I said to myself surely she would have realised that and when she phoned wouldn’t have said I broke down but “I ran out of fuel”. Anyway to be sure I said to her, ‘not to insult your intelligence love, but you do have petrol don’t you’? She replied “Errrm, I didn’t think of that, I think so, I must have”.:really: So I climbed in the car and turned the ignition on, the fuel needle did not move, not a bit, it stayed the wrong side of the ‘E’!!! :banghead: That will be the problem then, fuel starvation! So back home to get my fuel can, then to the petrol station and back the wife and mx-5.. Problem solved and a very slightly embaraced mrs.

By the time I got back to the beach all my mate’s were coming off the water…. :orb_blue: Bloody women!!! On the plus side I get a full weekend pass this weekend to go out with the boys! :nana::dtp:

My mrs ran out of fuel back in 1991 and since then i always make sure there`s plenty of fuel in the tank for her. She said when the fuel light came on that it ment there`s plenty left in there.

My wife who normally drives the Volvo took the other car, it was Saturday morning and I had to go into work for a couple of hours. Jumped in the Volvo and nothing, out of fuel, hours walk to get fuel and ended up hitting traffic and not getting home til lunchtime.She said " you always put the petrol in" not when I'm not driving the bloody car!

Still at least she didn't fill it with diesel like last time.

Hmmm my ex wife was like that always running out of petrol in her car, she has no problems now it would seem she is on her own. Moral of the story - some ladies make out they are inept,when really they just want the cash out of YOUR pocket to pay for THEIR fuel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just realised when my mrs ran out of fuel it was the day after she had highlights in her hair! coincidence or not? :dizzy:

On the rare occasion I use her mx-5 the dash is lit up like a christmas tree, washer fluid empty, fuel empty, oil level low, coolent low..... I bet the bloody MOT expired months ago too... Thats a thought, best ask her to check!

If its nothing to do with hair nails or spending on the house most ladies aren't interested but the funny thing is their the first to moan when a service costs too much or the car needs repairing !!!!!!!

My wife wouldnt know where the wash mitt and sponge are kept never mind the washer bottle! A few months ago my wife was out in our C-Max and could here a loud clunk and a knocking noise, instead of stopping she decided to turn the stereo up and drive home as she was only a couple miles away from home, cant quite remember what was wrong with it at the time, wheel bearings or something I think!
