de-cat

Featured Replies

just fitted the de-cat to my brothers focus and i must say i like it, seems to respond better and pick up better in acceleration, i also love the noise, not quite as deep as just the cat back system but a bit more of a rasp to the sound and a slightly higher pitch note, will fitting a de-cat and sports system to my octavia have a similar result? if so then i think it will definitly happen in the future and i can't wait, already e-mailed blueflame on details and pricing just awaiting a response.

is it right that fitting the decat onto a turbo car generally causes flames when you lift off at high rpm's?? if so then this would be soo cool in a really childish way ;)

so my brothers car(99 1.8 zetec) has had the following mods so far:-

-stainless cat back system

-stainless 4 branch manifold

-stainless de-cat

-bigger air inlet from a 2.0

-black diamond discs/pads @ the front

does he have a full licence, no. has he applied for his test, no. has he taken his theory yet, no. bloody nightmare

:mad::mad: not a diesel its a proper turbo :P

just kidding i think diesel turbo's are good just not really to my taste unless they are big(2.5 and above really) but no, i have a 1.8T that will (hopefully) be in my possesion and use again soon*

Flaming exhausts

Also after a similar item. What are the blue flame exhausts like?

Yes it's possible to get flames from a decat exhaust...even more so if you have a flamer kit. ;)

Blueflame exhaust are very good quality....Jabba's dp/cat is made by them as wll as their exhaust manifold for the IHI kit.

dave, how much does yours flame and what exactly have you done to it?

When the exhaust is hot it spits and pops flames out the back when changing gears and when overrunning (see TRAX DVD :D )... but a friend of mine has an RZ-1B Afterburner from www.ortosys.com and when switched on it spits 4ft flames out the back when changing gears at full chat (apparently)...

Burger anyone? ;)

I was SO tempted to fire up the misquote engine on that one....would probably get banned for it though
