just been reading the knowledge base about the octavia wrc and in it is mentioned a thatcham cat 2 alarm that is not present on the vrs, in my limited knowledge i believed that a thatcham cat 2 system was an imobiliser only and all octavia's came with this livel of security as most other new cars do and the cat 1 system was an upgrade to include an actual alarm, with sensors and noisy bits. please correct if i am wrong or have i been telling porkies to insurance companies in the past? :confused:

Cat 2 = immobiliser only, as per all Octy RS

Cat 1 = Alarm / immobiliser. I assume the WRC meets the cat1 spec...
