Warning! car buyers attacked

Featured Replies

This is happening not too far from where I live & I'm sure it will spread around the country.

I guess the 'seller' arranges a location to meet & knows the 'buyer' has got cash with him.

So if you go to view a motor with cash take the UZI with you:thumbup:

If it's anything more than a couple hundred quid anyway, say you'll pay by bank transfer. A trip to an open bank plus a small fee and you should be able to make a BACS transfer into the sellers account. If they're so adamant on cash then something's up.

or...Don't go alone...

Indeed. You can pay a bit more and have CHAPS, which is faster. I'd not want to risk more than a few hundred in cash.

Hardly a new "scam" they were doing this when I was starting off with cars in the 70s

have always gone with my mate when he's bought this way or even a couple of us so any problems he wont be on his own.

Yeah same, I've been with my Dad or got a mate to come when buying my motors.

I'd never go solo if it can be avoided.
