bosch aero blade wipers retro fit

Featured Replies

So, despite my turbo hose blowing off and a possible speeding ticket (watching the post carefully every day) my weekend drive down to Englandshire did have one bonus. My new bosch aero wiper blades worked a treat in the occasional showers we encountered along the way.

I bought the retro fit ones off of ebay (about £20 inc postage) so they clipped straight on to the existing wiper arms. Much quieter than the standard blades and cleared the water really well.

Recommended.

I found these did not fit on the passenger side causing wind noise - not recommended. Got cheap ones from Wilco and they were ok

Aero blades are brilliant and the retro fit one's are an excellant upgrade on the standard arms but I went the whole hog and changed to aero arms as I think they look better as they sit flatter to the screen.

Purely asthetic reasons as I don't believe they perform any better than the retrofit's but they do look nicer imo.

What part numbers would I need to change the whole arm over?

Cheers.

Parts are for Golf MK4 so need to be sourced from a VW dealer

Drivers side blade: 1J2 955 426B

Passenger blade: 1J2 955 425B

Drivers arm: 1J2 955409 D

Passenger arm: 1J2 955 410D

Not cheap though, about £80 iirc

I got mine as part of a group buy, but I can't remember where from - which is kinda bad as I organised it!!

Hi Musky. Mine sat a little proud of the windscreen on the passenger side for a the first day but seems to have settled nicely into place now. No wind noise and amazing water clearance in the downpour we had here last night.

Thank you very much for those part numbers.

I'm not too worried about the money, I'm a millionaire 1 day a month.

I have these retro fit ones for my Furby and they look the muts nuts. You can buy them from eBay, wiperblades.co.uk or if you live up north a shop/firm called Andrew Page. I got mine from Andrew Page and it was the cheapest at £20.

So far the driver side blade hasn't caught the edge of the windscreen and made a noise yet as the old ordinary ones did. The only problem is at first they seemed to miss the outer 1 cm of the driver side, but now seem to be OK.

I think they are Part no AR533S (21inch & 19 inch) for both cars, but check on wiperblades website.

We actually sell them in our parts department as an official upgrade for MK4 Golfs

+/- £18.

See your local V-Dub dealer

I think those will fit onto the mk4 golf aero arms, which are not the same as standard arms on the Octy, so you would probably have to get the aero arms too. They might just be flogging the rubber insert and not even the aero rubber "body".

If you need clarification of now the parts differ, I can try and take some pictures tomorrow.
