Tyre recommendation for vRS?

Featured Replies

When I worked in a tyre shop, if people had two good tyres, and two worse ones, we always recommended to put the better ones at the back.

Why? Losing control of the rear is worse than losing it on the front.

Re: the rear tyres. We're planning to change them shortly for P7s as well. So in the meantime we just have to be careful.

FWIW, though, I'm finding the cheap tyres on the back and P7s on the front are much grippier for general driving than the cheap on the front and the previous worn tyres on the back. So it's definitely a step in the right direction...

Sunny :) cheap tyres with no results. I have Toyo T1R and I'm tellin' you that is the best money can buy :)

That's just not true. They are a good tyre and I'm presently running 4 of them, but they're hardly "the best money can buy".

Glad you happy with the P7s. I had a bad experience with P6000s a few years ago, so won't be going back. As long as they feel better and you feel safer, that's the main thing.

Another vote for Toyo Proxes T1R's here .

I fitted a set of four shortly after getting my vrs - got online from blackcircles and fitted locally for £336 all in :) though since had to replace two fronts (normal wear) and one rear (due to a puncture ).

Will be fitting another pair up front shortly as they're down to 2.5mm and 2mm.... (thank god I've got the bike to limit the miles when the weather's nice!)

Very good on grip though I'm starting to notice a bit of understeer lately as they wear down - could be a sign of worn suspension though, to be checked in the next couple of weeks!
