Door locking pin moved?

Featured Replies

Hi

At the weekend i took the door card off my vrs and im starting to wish i hadnt!

The problem i have now is the door pin seems to be too low, when its locked its way down in the door and when unlocked the pin only just pops out the door, is there anything that would have caused this, what can i do?

Thanks

You could check that all the metal rod links are properly clipped in, especially near/on the lock mechanism, and is clipped to the retainer on the carrier.

If that's all OK, you could try bending the metal rods into a shape that pushes the door pin up more effectively.

Or you could leave it and avoid the inevitable broken bits!

I had a similar issue after i took my door card of this weekend! It turned out to be the small plastic trim around the hole through which the unlock pin comes. Basically part of the plastic on the trim had snapped and was jamming the hole, you couldn't see it from the top.

If you remove the small trim (just pulls out from the top) you'll see if its damaged. I managed to push the offending peice of plastic out of the way and refitted it.

Hope that makes sense!
