Colours of a Yellow vRS

Featured Replies

I've seen a Yellow vRS, but it's described as 'Spirit Yellow'

is this correct? as I was after a 'Lemon Yellow' ..

If there are two colours, does anyone know the difference between the two?

Thanks

Early cars where a light shade of yellow (the lemon yellow you mention). Late cars came in a more vivid bright yellow.

and the later more vivid ones are sprint yellow

Later yellow is much more attractive.

I agree

You want to go for a sprint yellow if you can. . .not that i'm biased.

Plus you get colour coded handles with the sprint yellow, which was a feature added to the car i think about 05-55 plate time.

They did the same with Corrida Red...Mine was reg'd in May 2005 and has the black handles....

I looked at the both, I actually like the lighter yellow better....

I haven't seen a Yellow Skoda in the flesh so I think I'll have to visit it and decide.

Better not be Fiat Punto Yellow colour!

that is the best way.... you can never tell by looking at pictures....

I remember a lady buying a new Fabia on the basis of what she saw in the brochure.... On collecting her car she burst into tears.... really didn't like it!!

Definitely need to see them in the flesh - yellow can look so different in photographs.

As mentioned above, the newer Sprint (not spirit by the way) Yellow ones will likely have colour coded door handles - Lemon Yellow ones generally don't (although there was a slight overlap between paint colour change and model year change IIRC).

I think the far car in this pic is Sprint Yellow but its hard to see much of a difference....

If I'd bought my vRS new it would have been Yellow, probably, to match the Lupo. Sprint yellow is indeed nicer- it doesn't show in photos but in real life it's a lot brighter.

Yup the first car on the left is sprint yellow ;)

having seen both in the flesh (so to speak) the sprint yellow is a much more vibrant colour, and nicer for it

Sprint Yellow must be pretty rare though? When did the change from Lemon to Sprint happen? IIRC it was in the last year of vRS production so around 2006?

When I ordered mine in feb 2006 as a lemon yellow the factory screwed up the order and then couldn't supply the car due to lemon yellow no longer being available, decided to wait for sprint yellow to be introduced so must have got one of the first in Aug 06

Ahh right cheers , so the ratio must be about 3 years production in Lemon and 1 year in Sprint then...roughly anyways!

I dont like Sprint Yellow,

Makes my car look dirty :P

sprint yellow > lemon yellow imo

Both yellows are cool, and both are way better than red, black or silver............... (he puts on ear defenders for deluge of abuse!)
