When i press switch right down for driver side window nothing happens if I press it halfway down it works. any ideas. If its just the switch how do I get at it to replace same ?

John

also when its freezing cold when I run the car for about 1/2 a mile the clutch pedal sticks halfway down. if I put my foot under it and lift it back a couple of times its OK after that. is there a spring or some means of returning it thats freezing up ?

Sorry about the long delay but i have managing with the fault. Yes if I press the button down to the bottom it will fully open, if I press it half way down it stops when I loose it, which is how I am using it at the moment. I have tried to take the switch out to look at it but I am worried in case I break some clips off as it seems a bit tight.

Welcome!

Isn't this what its meant to do? All the way down is one-touch to put the window all the way down/up in one touch. The midway setting is to move the window up/down and for it to stop when moving when the button is released. You can stop the window going all the way down down on the one-touch setting by pulling the button up half :)

I think this is what you mean??

Sorry about the misunderstanding I said what it should do. but when I press it right down nothing happens at all so I have to use the midway setting. I have tried closing it right up with the key in the lock and putting it right down with key in the lock, but when I take the key out put it back in the ignition switch and try the switch it is exactly the same as before.

John

put the key in the ignition and switch on

press window switch until the window goes all the way down

pull the switch up untill the window goes all the way to the top

and hold the switch in that position for about another 10 seconds

it should reset it

just remembered thats for the BM

for the fab close all windows

lock the drivers door with the key and hold in lock position for another 3 seconds

i hope

If the battery has been disconnected recently then the one touch feature has been lost. Reset by starting the car and press the window switch all the way down and hold down for a few seconds, you will hear a relay click, then release the switch, the auto one touch feature should be working ok now.
