The Fabia really has got a short power band that needs constant gear changing.

When you are concentrating on the circuit however,you can't spend too much time looking at the rev.counter,and with your bin on your head it's very difficult to hear the revs, so the only answer is a shift light from what I can gather.

Anyone recommend one that is simple and discreet, and that doesn't entail drilling holes in the dashboard.

AIR Impossible Performance do a ickle box that sits on the dash and plugs into cig lighter, just unplug when not in use.

Thanks for that Des! More than I was hoping for in fact. Will presumably be able to swap it from the AX to the Fabia, or vice versa, if and when required.

Just have to sort out where the optimum power band is, and adjust the device accordingly I presume. Fantastic, and for under a hundred quid too!

Was tempted by this myself. Don't know quite how it works but it does and very well i've tried one.

So you've got an AX then have ya, GT matey? I still got my AX, only 1.1 SPI though, but at times thought about upgrading it to the 1.6 saxo lump :eek:

Yes Lee. 1988 vintage, ex Citroen uk. One of the very first ones over here apparently,with one previous private owner,and now just over 40,000 miles!

Has been a reliable if somewhat flimsy car. Think a lot of it is made out of recycled cardboard! Very little rot on it though, if any in fact!

Had it for 7 yrs now, full respray last year as the red paint had bleached beyond T cutting. Has brought me a lot of fun and class wins over the years and can't see me ever getting rid of it.

C.J. jnr has got his eyes on it for 5 yrs time.
