Coilover Suspension much cheapness

Featured Replies

Mooching around on eBay I uncovered the following clicky

Anyone care to offer an opinion??

Looks the same as the Eibach Pro-Street / KW V1 stuff. Dunno whose kit it is though.

Sorry, can't offer any more than that, other than it is only height adjustable, nowt else.

Something not quite kosher with his feedback score. 27 consecutive feedbacks from the same person for what look like sill trims costing a few Euros! But there again that person has over 17000 sales on eBay.

But check the person who left the feedback score - he has umpteen from the same person with 0 feedback.....

Feedback from the same person is only counted as 1 though.

I phoned a chap there yesterday regarding some KW variant II. It may be geniune but for some reason I thought no and went to motorsportworld.co.uk.

I don't know what brand there for but the company says there the official importer of KW (but if you read the small print it says there not endorsed by any of the companies involved).

It's up to you guys but I would remember two thinks

1 There to cheap

2 How many of our members been skanked on ebay ?

(also my gut feelings are usually right !!)

One good thing it does highlight the weight difference between an Audi A3 and Octavia on the rear end and as some of you know MY BLOODY TYRES ARE RUBBING !!!!!!

ive sent a big list of questions to him... seem very good....good feedback...zorts might have to put on hold....

Re those prices..

They seem to be the pre-price rise prices (KW prices went up a few months back) so it might be old stock that this outfit has got hold of..

As for...

(but if you read the small print it says there not endorsed by any of the companies involved).

I think he's saying he's not endorsed by the car manufacturers listed, as opposed to not being endorsed by the manufacturers of the kit he sells.

If it all checks out, i think he'll pick up some business from this 'ere site :)

Anyone local want to go and check it out ?

Feedback from the same person is only counted as 1 though.
Thanks for putting me right. It gives me a bit more confidence in eBay positive feedback scores.

lol, so you called me! nice one.

the small print is a legal cover for companies like porsche as they are pretty quick to get lawyers involved if you use unauthorized their name and logo.

btw, motorsport international is not longer a KW importer. since alan hook left the company, things got pretty nasty.

i recommand to everyone the use of paypal. at least you have chance to recover your money!

cheers

Is this for real??

Sorry, am I missing something here? Am I reading this how it should be read or is it not sinister in any way whatsoever?

Can someone clarify the position?

There'a recent thread somewhere where Joel has said he's picking the coilovers up soon.

well ive ordered me self some watch this space :)

Joel, Just a quick word of advice, a lot of the kits on ebay are touted as suitable for golf A3 Octavia, the reality of this being that they are suitable for all 3 but NOT the VRS. I was caught out with this with a set of B + G coilovers I got off ebay for

but was designed for the ARB links to the lower control arm so there were no ARB mounting collars supplied. Fortunately I have good contacts in engineering and had some threaded Clamp collars made for free ( a local jobbing shop quoted me

In English:

Standard Octavia - The anti roll bar (ARB) connects via a bush on each end to the wishbone.

Octavia RS - The ARB connects via a rod to a lug on the shock absorber just below the spring seat.

The standard Octavia / Golf / A3 shock absorbers do not have this lug.

Hope that helps.

I have no idea what that means lol

Joel

Joel, sorry for the technicalities.....sort of got a little carried away there!!!:thumbup:

looks like i will have to get under it before doing it to have a look...

thanks for the tips tho

Joel
