What's going to break next?

Featured Replies

Well - my car is now nicely over 8 years old and little things come up every now and then that make me think "Hmmm, what might go next" Therefore I am on the lookout for potential parts to hoard for this eventuality. It seems my rear wiper motor is now dead (washer follows arm), so on the hunt for that. The car is very reliable but I wondered, given the history of the marque in general, what could go next. :D With much of the car not 8 years old, this might not be as big an issue as it could be though....

Bin the wiper and blank it off for the super smooth look.

Yeah - I know what you mean, but I get really paranoid if I can't see out the back window (thanks skoda for great aerodynamics...)

Got me wondering now if I could use a super duper wax or something so water & crud never really sticks to it....

Heard Muc Off works wonders and dirt just drops off of crosser motorbikes ;)

I predict... the turbo!!! Muahhhaa ha ha ha!!!

Take the roof spoiler off - problem solved. Also get the exhaust changed to a down pipe like I had. I didnt take the spoiler off, but the soot on the back was reduced by %80 modifying the exhaust.

In addition, Aquapel the rear screen a couple of times...

IIRC Jason is presently sporting a tasty "side exit" number

;)

For you Jason, one of the driveshafts I reckon ;)

My rear washer has always followed the wiper arm?

Water still comes out and it still cleans I don't find it a problem.

Isn't it ment to be like this?

I predict it will be your neck breaking if there is anymore power output.

I'm thinking smaller,

Fuel pump relay? Wheel bearing?

Heated mirrors?

Hopefully it'll be nothing big for ya :)

What have you had of the "expected" list?

Coolant sensor?

Leaky back doors?

Mooing Breaks?

PAS Sensor?

PAS Pump?

Console Bushes?

Rear Bushes?

;)

.

Put me down for the ECU

something random and unexpected..... the right rear window winder mechanism

A bulb??

I reckon the elastic on the fluffy dice is bound to be next

Coolant sensor? - Not that I know of

Leaky back doors? - Fixed by previous owner under warranty I suspect, Silicone everywhere :D

Mooing Breaks? - Don't think so

PAS Sensor? - Yeah, I replaced this about 2 years ago

PAS Pump? - Not YET  Expensive!

Console Bushes? - Changed to cupra ones on the front a while back

Rear Bushes? - Dunno. :o

Mines started doing the same! Someone posted me a link to:

http://briskoda.net/fabia-i/rear-screen-wash-repair-kit/136058/

I've just ordered one from VW, said it was about £25.

Might be cheaper / easier than finding a second hand one

I am betting the plastic hazard button will fall off !!

TL

take the wiper off, less weight and drag
