vredestein tyres

Featured Replies

just ordered some vredestein sportrac 3 for my vrs, anyone used these before

Not used them on a Skoda but we use them at work on Mazda's and they work really well, good quality tyre at sensible money :)

JAYMD has used Vredestiens and rated them highly from what I remember

got a mate who has the new shape focus st and he uses the vredestein ultra sesantas and rates them highly so decided to try the sportrac 3's

Ive got one Ultrac! I like it and want to get the other three soon!

I run a set of vred ultrac sessantas, best tyres I have had, better than the t1-rs (which i have used on several of my cars for the last few yrs), the vreds came 2nd in a tyre test behind the new eagle f1s iirc!

They are used alot in europe and their winter tyres are awesome too!

These have won and been very highly rated in recent tyre tests (autoexpress etc) they are good value - a mate used the sportrac 2's for a while and said they were good and got good mileage out of them.

bargain sounds like a good buy then, as a everyday tyre the toyo's are great but on the track a few people have said when they get hot the blocks of tread move leading to loss of grip so i thought i would try something else, plus they were 25 quid cheaper than the toyo's

Yep great tyres i have ultrac's on the front, nice and quiet and grippy in wet n dry conditions too, i much perfer them to the falkens 452 that they replaced.

well will see how the compare to previous rubber i have had, can't be any worse that the cheap crap that is on there now ,would love to have had toyo's all round but the vredestein being 25 quid cheaper a corner it made sense at the time lol

I have them all round on mine too.

They are uni directional tho (at least mine are) which if you didnt know means they have to be put on the car the correct way, and so if you have a puncture and put the spare on, there is a 50/50 chance its on the wrong way around.....

My mot test pulled me on that one, I had one that was facing the wrong way, so they swapped it over for me

Hi Mate,

I have Sportrac 3's on my car, had the back 2 on for about 6 months and the front 2 this week, I have to say they are very good indeed. Can really notice a big difference in the handling in the rain (as this is all it has done this week). I would definately recomend them and even have them again. Also i dont know where you have found them or for how much but the cheapest i could find was on MyTyres for £83 per tyre.

Like Dave mentioned i have a set of Vredesteins Ultracs on mine.

Originally had a set of 205/50 17 on which lasted around 28k and then i went for Goodyear f1 which are very good maybe very slightly better than the Ultracs but only lasted around 13k which is a little had to swallow.

225 45 17 fitted this time and i'm hoping they will last around 25k as this will be around 2 years driving for me.

Ultracs are a good all round tyre and only set me back £265 for the tyres not fitted, but i have someone who does that cheap.

yeah i have toyo t1r's on the front which cost me 220 fitted at the time, but got the vredesteins on mytyres the other day for 83 like you said

Sorry, but this is gonna be a major thread revival

But...

I've just bought some 205/50/R17 Vredestein Sportrac 3's for the front of the octy (pothole took out the existing goodyear ones). Was gonna go with the 225/45 size, but they don't make them in that size apparently.

However, I've just thought of something I never checked on - Do they have rim protectors on them? I've looked all over the vred. website, and searched on google, but I just can't find out.

Was wondering if anyone who has them on could check for me?

Pretty please... :D

I have Sporttrac3's them on the 4x4 and they are excellent - and yes they do have rim protection.

Cool, cheers for that!!

Just out of interest, what size tyres are yours?

I've been doing a lot of research for my other car, a Mazda RX8, and Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas [where do they get these names from?] are well-recommended.

So recommended that the main importer has run out of tyres in my size until February delivery................
