PM me or Dave for details.

Saying that it's not exactly a state secret. It's plastered all over UKMKIVs.

A little Briskoda get together at JBS's RR day for the mkIV forum.

UPDATE....

Right guy's, just spoke to REVO, explained my problem, they have suggested that it will probably take a few tank fulls of juice for the car to adjust, if that does not eliminate the "slight surging" then it may be my dump valve (Bailey DV30), can't see that a dump valve can cause problems under light acceleration??? any advice......please...... :)

It can, that's why I asked, the DV is used more at part throttle than full. At WOT the DV is just closed so all it has to do is stop the boost getting out. At part throttle the DV is constantly letting boost out to keep the boost at a lower level. If the DV is reacting quick enough (sticking) then boost will be allowed to build up hence the surge is felt as boost is high than required but then released.

So should I fit the old DV back on, also the clip on the vacum end is the old clip and only a push fit, should I replace with a proper clip on th eBailey one first??

Thanks

Adam

The vacuum pipe should be fitted securely so yes, I would advise fitting a new clip.

If you switch back to standard (slow) mode and it stops then this should rule out the dump valve. As I said, I have experienced this to some degree on some occasions but have not ever got around to doing any experimentation, until today that is. :) I read a while ago before I had revo about 'surging', not knowing what was meant by the term at the time. I remember on VWVortex (I think) someone mentioning that whenever they were around the Low Boost 9 setting, which is both the 95 and 98ron map on the SPS2, they experienced surging. Well today I ran the tank of Esso 97ron right down, filled up with Optimax and set the boost up to High Boost 3 (and timing 6). Apart from there being a huge difference in the way it goes (it pulls like a train!) it does seem to be smoother. This is based on about 10 miles only however but I'll let you know how it goes over the weekend. This could be a solution for you.

Sounds interesting, I'm running the same settings but on 4 bar. I've never used LB9 so can't comment on that.

Right, went out at lunch to change the dump valve and...the fitting on the top where the small pipe fits in is loose  Have tightened it up finger tight (about 1 turn) reconnected the pipe back on and the surging seems to have gone!!!! Looks like on part throttle the valve piston was moving up and down due to uneven vacum.....will see how this goes.

Cheers for all the sugestions chaps.

That's good news, keep us updated as to whether the problem returns or stays away.
