wax for rims

Featured Replies

WB is hardcore !!!...........unless you have diluted it 20:1 or more its gonna strip anything off within a few wheel cleans

I disagree and so does my pH meter.

do you use WB ?!

id like to see you use it diluted 4:1 as the bottle recommends and still have wax protection a few washes down the line, it just wont happen, the wax will be seriously affected on the first wash

Yes, as posted several times above. I think you have to use all chemicals as directed and previously I have used Wonder Wheels on a regular basis without any problems. The problem with acid cleaners comes about when you use them on rims where the lacquer is broken (chipped or kerbed) where the acid corrodes the metal under the laquer, which is why you should never use these products on unlaquered polished or diamond cut wheels.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, and doubtless I'll find out soon enough, but the reason isn't that it's a strong acid. I'd be more concerned about using a strong alkali on my car than a very weak acid, which is what Baker21 is recommending. If you read the HAZMAT warnings on Megs APC it's very clear that Megs themselves consider it a very potent chemical.

Used most of the designated Wheel Waxes and have a fair amount of them in the collection not doing much and I have found that CG Jetseal 109 is the one I would buy, time and time again.........

You can ofcourse apply normal bodywork waxes however their durability will not be as good as the Wheel Waxes in terms of heat resistance and brake dust repelling ability.........

Got this on mine :rofl: and the wheels are very easy to clean, brakedust mostly rinses away

The problem is, does anyone ever read the instructions when they buy any product................:o

The best wheel sealer Ive used WAS Poorboys Wheel sealant.

I now use Bilt Hamber Autobalm..Its miles better at repelling brake dust and easier to clean the wheels too.

It really is great stuff!!
