Should i sell the VRS

Featured Replies

I have a question for everyone, I'm buying a house soon (should go through in the next 3-4 weeks, fingers crossed!) and I'm really considering selling the VRS and getting something cheap for a couple of years but the octy has done a lot of miles now (120k!) and i don't think i'll get hardly anything for it. I love the car to bits but i'm not sure what to do?

Would it be worth selling it and getting pennys for it or should i just keep it till it dies?

You need to sit down and work out a sensible price you think you would get for it and then work out what you would buy with buy with the money.

What sort of money could you save on running costs over the 2 years including petrol, tax etc..?

I personally think you will end up keeping the car,as if your only saving a few grand over that time you will then have to buy something fast again costing more money.;)

I'll be honest, the plan has always been to get either an RS4 or an M5 next. It'll just take a few years to get there is all and with this being my first house purchase i'd like to save some money. Just not sure if it's actually worth getting rid or not

Nice idea. Big cost though! It'd have to be the RS4 for me :).

If I was you I'd hang on to the Octy. It's a nice car, a known quantity, and you won't see a lot for it- it's worth more to you as a known car. You could sell the Octy, buy something very cheap, and have to spend hundreds on it if it develops a fault.

spelling.

Another vote for hanging on to the Octavia from me :)

I was thinking this, i just hope that it'll last another couple of years at least. It's the best car i've had so far and i do love it to bits, always makes me smile :D

120k miles? nicely run in.

I'd go with the others on this thread. Keep the car unless you realy want/need to change it.

You might not be able to afford the S4/M5 once all the bills and other expenses come into play, but you'll prob have done your maths.

As we all know things change so you never know, in a couple of years i might decide otherwise. But for the time being i think i'll be keeping the octy, it always makes me smile when i drive it :D

Hopefully i'll be able to get what i'm after in a few years time, it's just a case of waiting. Shows i'm getting older thinking about the future and all......EEK!!
