Anyone know where vwlabs.com is gone.

It seems to have vanished since May.

Was a useful site.

Or has anyone any other ideas for getting google maps destinations on SD for RNS510.

They did announce earlier in the year that they would be pulling the site in June. Great shame, I liked it and used it a fair bit. :(

Hi and good morning from Germany!

Unfortunately I don't know an English website for generating address- or picturefiles for the RNS 510 (or Skoda Columbus).

Anyway, I have a German website of Volkswagen where you can generate those files for your navigation-system.

If you know a little German, you should be able to generate your own files and of course they work very well on the RNS 510 respectively Skoda Columbus.

http://www.volkswage...navigation.html

(unfortunately the URL-translation service of Google doesn't work well with this website)

I wanna try to give you some short hints to help you, if you don't understand German.

Enter your information in the fields "Interesse" (that means what I'm searching for e.g. special address or a restaurant or whatever) and "Ort" (the place where I'm searching for e.g. city) and press the orange "Suche starten" button.

The result will be shown left of the map and you'll find a button "Für Adress Navigation speichern". After pressing the button an additional window appears with some information where you should copy the file. Press "Weiter" and save the generated file on your SD-card into the folder "destinations".

For picture-navigation you can upload a picture of the destination. Use the orange button "Bild laden" for this. After uploading the picture you can input a title ("Titel") and some descriptions ("Beschreibung") which are shown later in the navigation system. If a picture is uploaded, you'll find also an additional button "Für Bild Navigation speichern" in your result-list. Use this button to download the picture-file and put it into to folder "gps-pictures" on your SD-card.

And another tip: You can find a small menu with the three items "Adressnavigation", "POI-Listen-Sammlung" and "Fragen und Antworten" at the top. We used the "Adressnavigaton" as yet. If you have a new device (I think build later than week 22 of the year 2011) you can also use the POI-lists. To generate such lists use the menu-item "POI-Listen-Sammlung". Unfortunately my radio is older so I wasn't able to test it.

I hope I could help you a little and I hope you could understand my bad English as well.
