Strange wear on discs???

Featured Replies

Hi all, I fitted the Black diamond predator pads and Brembo disc's last weekend. Since then i have done about 250 miles and there appears to be some strange disc wear happening. I have spoke to Billy about this and i believe his predator pads did the same, Billy can you confirm this please?

The pads have chamfered edges on the sides. I'm not sure if this would effect initial wear rates though, any ideas or is this normal?

hi m8:thumbup:

i think the chamfered edges are for a smoother, less bite application, if that makes sense?

as for the discs you have now done 250 miles so i think the bedding in period should be over so i would give them a bit of stick which should clear that up, thats what id do

have you been easy on them or harsh?

oh & make sure they re warm if you do give em stick so they dont distort, you probably know anyway

Hey up long time no speak.

I read pad chamfered edge are on some pads to stop brake squeal.

I have been quite easy on them but gave em some stick this morning just before the photo. I presume they will clear up but it's weird.

I had similar strange scratches on my new Zimmermann drilled discs when I first started using them. Bugged the hell out of me, but it disappeared once I started using the discs the way they were meant to be used :) So, i don't think there's anything to worry about.
