Hot wax?

Featured Replies

Why should you not use Turtle Wax if 'the surface is hot to the touch' (I assume this means the car's surface? What happens? I have just applied some to my car and the weather is very warm!

Usually very difficult to buff off, i did it on my very first car and it required alot of force to remove.

all the waxes burn off instantly in the heat leaving highly corrosive acid which eats into your paintwork, destroying it forever

Mwa Ha Ha Ha Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

only joking - I have no idea really. I guess it just bakes the wax on making it harder to buff to a shine... :D

Hahahaha, I like it!!

Is the sun getting to you John?

I was working Meguiars #80 & #83 in with the Kestral DAS-6 yesterday, even working it thin it could be a pain to get off, without pressing on and leaving more marks in the clear coat.

The collinite 915 hard wax, was left till it cooled off. As if you dont apply the correct amount you can be there for hours finding hard bits you've missed.

Never mind it being baked on!

Waxes are a blend of cleaners and oils, and if the panels are too hot, the cure time goes all to hell and the residue is a bitch to buff off.

Waxing and polishing in varying temperatures will yield different results and time to get the product on and off, some can become sticky and glossy with the heat whereas some can go very dry..........
