Powerflex Rear Wishbone Bush 'Insert'

Featured Replies

opinions on this ?.......not heard about this before is it new, and would it require everything to come off to be fitted or just the end bolt ?

when i had my car serviced by Awesome on Sat, it was noted i had slight play in these bushes, and the price to replace them seems rather excessive, especially when the play was only described to me as slight

intersting, it looks like its just the bolt that needs to come out and push the Powerflex insert in to give a little more support.

Remember reading some posts about these from back in the day. If i remember correctly they do occasionally fall out... I think you just push them in, no bolt to remove or anything?

I don't think the prices Unit 18 charge are particularly excessive, and the cupra bushes are a bit more of a permanent solution?

those Powerflex bushes are waste of time and money IMHO , its like a stop-gap measure before you realise that you should of had the cupra bushes fitted in the first place

Total waste of time. Stop-gap being fitted them, drove 2 miles to tesco's, checked them and one side had almost fell off. :thumbdwn:

Cupra bushes/powerflex front is the best method but yeah a tad expensive.

I think the Briskoda term for these items is UDDERS, and I'd reckon that the other way to sort this is the correct way - ie Ibiza Cupra non-voided bushes.

Total waste of time and money. The standard voided bush moves fore and aft under acceleration and braking, so these push in dodas will simply come loose and fall out. Might as well stuff some poly doweling in the voids.

that answers that then, cheers

The ones that fall out are on Mk I Octavias I think.

When you replace the wishone bushes on the vRS there are two sides - the front and the back. I have Powerflex on the front and Cupra on the back, as specified by Lummox at U18. They are quite pricey, but as I got them done as the same time as the rest of my suspension, it got lost in the general fitting bill, and, as someone has already said, Ross and Ali are significantly cheaper for this than a dealer or many other specialists. I'm pretty sure Ross has the units already made up and he just slots them on.
