Anthracite Zeniths ready for booting (pics) - decisions, decisions

Featured Replies

Wheels are now powder coated - just need the rubber (no comments please).

I think I've narrowed it down to a choice between Ultrac Sessantas and Falken 452s, unless someone out the tells me I'm stupid.

Looking forward to seeing those fitted

I'd go for some Sessantas.

Steve

Oooh... very nice

Regarding Tyres, out of the two you say, there is no comparison, sessantas all the way.

Cheers

Damian

very nice, looking forward to seeing them on:thumbup:

Don't rule out Avon Tyres as well

I had ZZ3's on my last car and apart from looking stunning, I was really happy with the whole package for a very reasonable price

Cheers

Damian

+1 for Avon ZZ3s

I'm finding the new Falken ZE912 very impressive !!

Hi, do you have the details of the coating.........colour etc etc etc ??

Most impressed! I love the light finish on the zeniths, especially up close, but these look well tasty!

Details of who did it, how much cost, whether happy with service etc etc would be appreciated by me and others I'm sure.

Not sure how those would look on a black car, but on a white one they'd be hot.

.............. or a yellow one

They are not too dark, so I'm hoping they'll be OK - will soon find out !

Saw a black Pug 207 with albeit dark anthracite wheels the other day. Looked somewhat like a brick, but it is a smallish car compared to the Octi.

They look class. Have you a paint code for the color used?

Looking forward to seeing those fitted

:iagree:

Good idea is to wax them before you put em on the car.Makes washing them oh so much easier.;)you took the plunge then bry looking good..

Cheers Chris - tyres just ordered from Camskill - Ultrac Sessantas at £88.40 each + £9.80 delivery - that price must almost qualify them as budget tyres ! Local fitter has quoted me £40 all in for fitting.

Can't wait :)

would love to do this on my blue one, looking forward to seeing them on :D

Good call!

We're all now waiting for pics of the completed job. ;):) Mind you with your colour coded grille and privacy glass to the rear, and now having anthracite wheels you might be mistaken for an Audi A3 Sportback 'Black Edition' ;)

Sounds great - good tyre price! I've never paid a delivery charge from Camskill though? Is that a new thing

When's the big day?! I'd definitely wax and seal them while they're off the car. Base coat of Collinite 476 and then PB Wheel Sealant is what I did on the last set I had off.

Wheels are powder coated and clear laquered - will either of those have any effect on the laquer ?

Hope to have wheels on car by the end of the week if all goes well - pics will follow.

They'll both help to protect that finish

PB Wheel Sealant is clearly wheel specific :) Plus I use 476 because it's a very durable wax, so will maintain a good, protective finish for as long as possible. Then consider doing top-up coats of PB every couple of months perhaps. Depends how many miles they get, and how much brake dust/general grime they're subjected to.

Thanks - any recommendations of who might stock them, or do you buy off t'internet ?

You'll find it tricky to find the more specialist cleaning stuff, without resorting to internet ordering.

... and kiss goodbye to any spare change - once you get the detailing bug it starts costing more than you think!
