I know you said you don't like the post-facelift lenses, but here's an idea...try some of the silvered indicator bulbs such as Philips Silvervision or Osram Diadem, gets rid of the orange splodge and just makes it look 'cleaner', might change your mind.

Plus it's legal

as an a***hole with over 15 years experience, I wouldn't even pull you over. (and a high percentage of my work is traffic related)

As far as black lights are concerned, bear in mind you still want people following you on a bright sunny day to be able to see your brake lights, don't you? and don't cover the rear reflectors or again, it'll fail the MOT.

I find in general the police are both well respected and as the previous posts show well represented too here, and of course most of the time the people that think they are assholes tend to be the ones with something to hide. I thought about deleting the offending post but it seems the membership have dealt with it quite adequately in public themselves, which is nice!

Ive been an asshole for 5 years now and love meeting drivers who think theyre clever, as generally theyre not. The law will get you one way or the other, either hit you in the pocket or waste some of your time by producers/VDRS.

Drivers of modded cars will drive quickly/stupidly sometimes and as long as they are remorseful and polite when stopped then it will often be 'words of advice', a nice chat about the car and the driver leaves with a good opinion of the police. Try to take the pi55 and I'll see you in court and eventually have your licence away.

A final thought....who do people call when theyre in trouble/fear of violence/victim of crime.....yes, an asshole. If I was the local bobby and saw the nice young man who made the comment in the first place i'd find something wrong with the car and be the biggest asshole possible.

An apology would be nice as it appears there are a good few police on this forum.

As far as police go, I've worked for 2 forces, though not as a copper. Like anywhere else, there's a few kn0bs, but most I've dealt with (as colleagues and as a member of the public) are fine.
