New Fabia owner

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Having got my first Skoda (Fabia 1.4 16v) I thought I would introduce myself and my Furby!.

I bought it from a neighbour so I know it hasn't been ragged. I took it on a 50 mile run the day after I got it and ......everything works as it should  .

Having said that, I was having a fiddle (new owner and all that) and I was checking the wing mirror operation with ignition turned on but engine not started and although the passenger mirror was ok the driver mirror wouldn't adjust also the window switches seem to be wrong i.e. the left switch opened drivers window and vice versa ?? I made a note to get that sorted .........I thought perhaps that someone had wired the switches in the wrong way and in doing so had trapped the drivers mirror wire.

However, on the way home the other day and stopped at the traffic lights I gave the mirrors another twirl and bingo! they BOTH worked and also the windows switches worked the right windows..........was I imagining it??.

Oh and I have the flickering lights problem but I'm going to sit on that until I get any other symtoms, it seems to be a common problem.

Anyways sorry that this is a bit long but I just wanted to give my first impressions as a new owner.....its certainly a step up from my aging Polo that I now need to sell :)

L8r,

Paul

The window swapping seems to be an odd quirk of the Fabia, have heard of quite a few doing it (my vRS included), never got to the bottom of it though as it never does it long enough for me to check it.
