new guy with white ex police octavia vrs

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

bought myself an ex police 2004 octavia vrs last week.

I was a bit apprehesive at first - the car itself is in mint condition but the engine had done 102k!!??

anyway to cut a long story short - bought it off a local dealer for 3k (who specialises in ex police police cars) I had a new timing belt and all the kit put on (180) and a good thorough service (130)

my mechanic said it has been very well maintained and will run and run as they r top quality build.

just been on a 200 round trip to wales yesterday - i absolutely love the car , what a mint drive!! drives like new..!!

my wife has a 2.0 golf gt sport 170. it makes mincemeat of hers. ha ha

just bought new vrs badges for front grill and rear , and i must say they certainly finish it off!!!

great site guys.

speak soon.

andy.

hmm u might be right - is there any way of knowing for sure??

what about insurance etc??

i would think as far as insurance is concerned unless they have told you when you purchased it, it would be an harsh company to penalise you...

funny you should mention that actually though... as my recent 53 plate purchase... turns out has had some mapping done (all be it crap one, which has had some not good side affects.. running too rich!)

and i found that out by a scan of the ECU at the tuner i have always took my octavia's too :)

HTH
