Hi, me again with another question. My new Roomster had a detachable towbar fitted at our local Skoda dealer today and I tried removing it when I got home. But now I can't put it back on. I've struggled with it with the key in both positions and the button pressed in but it just won't go in.

I wondered if there is a knack that I don't know about.

Can anyone help please before I go off back to the dealer tomorrow?

Hi there, turn the key anti-clockwise, then turn the knob also anticlockwise and pull the knob out at the same time until it clicks out,the towball should now fit up into the socket fully and "click" in. The instructions are not clear about having to pull the knob out. Hope that helps

I presume you mean the little red knob. Mine just rotates when I turn it and it doesn't pull or click out. But I can push it in against a spring. That is what I did (with the key anti-clockwise) when I removed it and it just fell out.

Edit, I meant to say that I wasn't given any instructions. I was just told turn the key and push the knob in. That worked ok for removing it.

Right, I've sussed it. You have to push the red button in and turn the big black bit that the button is attached to against a very strong spring. Then it goes in and locks into place. spannerash I think maybe you have a different design to mine. But thanks again for trying to help.
