Alarm ?

Featured Replies

does every Fabia, or vRS, have an alarm ?

cant spot any interior sensors in my car but the door pins on the door card flash ?

Check it.

Sit in, lock the door with remote.

Press lock again andthe deadlock will be off.

Open the door and it should sound.

The interior sensor is behind the little grille in the interior light unit. Doesn't give the coverage of the full interior that sensors on the A-pillar do, but arguably better positioned to protect the stereo and glovebox...

ah ive never looked for anything up there, cheers

ill possibly try ****ting myself tomorrow by setting the alarm? off with me inside lol

I thought all Fabias had an Immobiliser, but it was only the vRS that had an Alarm. I may be wrong.

I only found mine had an alarm when I opened the car with the key in the lock, reached to get something from the glove compartment and then the alarm went off.

Elegance had an alarm, Comfort and Classic don't. vRS I don't know.

Think it was the vRS that only had the alarm.

I locked my bitch of an ex in my old vRS once not realising it had an alarm, haha!

Both the Elegance and the vRS definatly came with an alarm. Another way to set off the alarm is to unlock the drivers door with the key, open the door and wait 30 seconds.

To correct an earlier post, the grill in the light panel does not contain the interior sensor, but it is where the microphone for the OE car kit would be installed.

My comfort has an alarm , factory fit option for an ex dealer demonstrator car.

You sure about that?

Where is/are it/they, then? The OE alarm definitely has them, as I know from being locked in my wife's Comfy one time ( ) when she went to the loo at a service station!

Oh, and that was a Comfy too! ;)

That grill is definatly the location for the microphone as it is the same plastic panel used in the Octavia as well and where I have fitted said OE microphone while also having a standard fit cat 1 alarm (when the microphone is not fitted there is a piece of foam in the way. I don't know how the motion sensor works, but even if it was out of the grill there would not be the range for it to cover the whole of the in teroir.

The sensor sits up in that area but is a mircowave type sensor so doesnt need a obvoius external grill or sensor head.

So is it wired into the Alarm Via the lighting loom?

I wondered about the interior sensor. I know it's got one because if you leave the windows open and lock the car it goes off after about a minute. I thought it ultrasonics might be behind one of the little grills near the heater controls but a microwave sensor up near the light would explain it!

The grille to the right of the AC button has the interior temp sensor behind it. The other side only has indentations for cosmetic reasons - the holes don't go all the way through...
