That didn't last long did it!

You'll be glad to know your first is still going strong SWMBO keeps the mileage low as her daily driver and I get to borrow it to take it for a blast.

She is being treated to a new black carpet shortly!

Great to hear from you mate!!

Good to know she's still going strong!!!

Black carpet ...nice!! i wanted to do that but never got round to it!

If you dont mind me asking, what did you use when you de chromed the grill??

I pick up a black MK1 next week and like this mod.

Rubbed it back to bare plastic, then used plastic premier, followed by matt black paint.

there is a good guide on the forum too mate try a search.

Will be doing the same again shortly on my latest vrs.

Great looking motor mate, get the smoked indicators! Winner on a black car... Question: most of your mods are handling improvements. How does it compare to the standard setup? And which in your opinion were the most effective handling mods?

  • Author

Cheers mate!

Yeah the car handled well but for the money the best improvement came from the rear whiteline arb.

Shocks were very good with standard springs best for road use but did'nt like the ride height so went with H&R springs

Looked alot better but maybe bit to stiff for the crap roads down in devon!

Also s3 braces make a difference for a small outlay well worth it.

Thanks for the tips bud :)
