Well, what fun I have had today! Despite my mongrel being a lardy FWD diesel, I felt I had one of the quickest cars at Llandow today, maybe because the rain kind of levels the playing field? The best match was a tidily driven teggy Type R, and a Lotus Elan with some maHOOOOSive turbo bolted on. The mongrel felt strong in the wet, and the track was grippy (mainly) despite this - standing water on bends being the only main issues to contend with (aquaplane city )

I will get some video up later of my sessions, taken on my camcorder using an inboard mount. One of them will be me and Mr Teggy R having some fun.

However, for £75 I got at least TWO hours on track in a variety of sessions, so I was well happy by the time I had to go home. My front left tyre is looking shoddy though, so a front to back swap is needed before tomorrow.

A donated wooden thing with holes in that the headrest goes through, and 2 bungee cords that "pull" it downwards to try and keep it steady. It's not bad, but also not the most ideal solution, but then it was totally free.

Llandow is good fun for the money. I usually organise 2/3 track days a year with them. Booked the whole weekend for the SXOC next weekend, just hope the weather is good!!

I'm going to Rockingham tomorrow, it looks as though the weather is going to be similar... Might need to put some Aquapel or RainX on my screen as my wipers give up at 90mph... :eek:

I think it was a DC2 - said he had 200hp and 130 lb/ft. But it was handling well. A change of tyres at lunch saw him do much better in the afternoon which is why we had a cool 6 lap+ nose to tail session. Great fun!
