Just wanted to say thanks to Jamie for coming over last night to lend me his Liquid Gauge to play with while he goes on holiday :)

His car was a really nice clean example. Nice car you got their. Went out for a drive in his car so he could show me how to use the gauge and all its features. We then went out in mine so he could get a feel for R32 rack before fitting the one he has to his car. I think he liked it so thats another job on his list of things to do :)

Then back to mine for an evening of PS3 and 360 console bashing :) Lots of racing games of course.

The drive in to work this morning was a dangerous one tho, i think i spent a little to much time playing with the gauge rather than watching the road, lol. Jamie had mad a bracket to hold it in the ashtray but i had a few problems with it staying in place, and moving when the toggle stick was used. So i took the gauge and ashtray into my engineering dept and they are knocking up a couple of stainless brackets to hold it firmly in place :)

Will have another play tonight, want to give the dyno part ago and the 0-60, 0-100 sections a go. Have to nip across to Lydden Hill and have a play :)

Anyhoo, thanks again Jamie.

Kind Regards

Garry

No probs, hope you enjoy it and as others have said you'll burn a lot of fuel

The R32 rack made it seem like a much smaller car, I can definately recommend it. I was too busy enjoying the DV noises to concentrate on the rack though

Yeah, when i was in your car i could not believe how quiet the turbo used to be, lol.

So, you gonna book it in for a the rack change after your holiday? :D

Will get some photos of the bracket up also once done and fitted. If anyone else wants some for their gauge i can make them up no worries.

Kind Regards

Garry

Another quick question, how do you get the gauge to turn off with the ignition? or is it always ment to stay on?

Kind Regards

Garry

Oops yeah forgot to tell you how to turn it off! If you go to the main menu and hold the joystick "up" for a couple of seconds the screen fades and it turns off. Otherwise it is on all the time its plugged into the OBD port and drawing power.

Perfect mate :)

Got the first fixture plates now, will fit them tonight and get some pictures up

Garry

Cool  I cut large holes in the back of the ashtray and ashtray holder on mine to feed the cable through to the back off the gauge, then you can feed the cable behind the dash and close the ashtray to hide the gauge when not in use.

Yeah im in 2 minds about where to keep it, should i buy one. I quite like the oe look of the vent but the ashtray is nice also.

MMMmmm.. decisions decisions :)

Garry

Looks well in the ashtray and can be hid out of sight, which I love. Am getting this at some point but have to get my brakes sorted first.

I had better knock up a few spare brackets then.

I wonder when the novelty will wear off :D lol

Garry

Hey Garry - does this mean you can do those videos for me? :D

  • Author

Sure does mate :D

Will take some over the weekend for you.

Kind Regards

Garry
