Anyone else driving over from Sheffield area? I'm going to drive over the Snake or Woodhead, aiming to get there for about 10 if anyone wants to join me.

What time are people turning up?

We're leaving Edinburgh around 6am, so should be there 9am-10am.

Which way do you fancy going - Snake or Woodhead? We should probably be leaving about 8:45? I'm in Grenoside, so it's as easy for me to drop down to Hillsborough and go out on the A57 as it is to go out to the A628.

If I clean the car at home its going to be filthy by the time I get there :s

When I went to the Briskoda National Meet at Gaydon I took a couple of microfibre cloths and some Megs Last Touch / Quik Detailer and gave the car a quick wipe over when I arrived.

If you want to take things a bit more seriously, try this approach...

I did Newport to Northampton and it worked well!

Can't see cling film putting up much of a fight against stone chips!

Thanks for that, was planning on detailing the car today and bringing some Megs QD and cloths with me tomorrow. Don't think I'd have the courage to drive down with all that tape on the front :( Wish I did though as its an excellent idea, similar to having a car bra

Paintwork is in good condition anyway but I have a choice of three pads, Megs Scratch X, AG Ultra Deep Shine, Zymol HD Clense, and AG HD Wax. Going to try layering the wax this time with the spit shine method and see what happens

Quick thought: Sellotape do 'Invisible Tape' that doesn't stick very well. Might try that tomorrow
