new Fabia on the block - looking to dismantle it already

Featured Replies

Thank you all for this community existence. ;)

I'm waiting for my, first car, second hand 2000 Fabia 1.4 elegance 101hp to arrive from the inspection.

It seems to be a fantastic car and the best money for value I could find around.

Now, even before getting my hands on the car, I'm looking to unmount all plastics and tissues inside it to get to the metal and fully isolate it. I'm trying to get an acoustical environment as pleasing as possible inside. that means less noise.

If anyone knows where to get schemes like the one bellow for the seats, floor cover, firewall, front doors, etc, I'd be very grateful.

Cheers to all.

Welcome to briskoda.

The Fabia doors are quiet difficult to dissamble. Sure the door card comes off easy enough, but the inner skin is riveted onto the door and to get access you will need to remove them all along with the window glass as the window mechanism is attached to this skin and find a way to re-attach it all at reassembly.

Hello and welcome.

Welcome :)

Hiya. As Mannyo says about the door structure; that's probably quite normal with moderns.

Another thought about reducing interior noise; you might find that a Classic has narrower and higher profile tyres than an Elegance, and that should reduce tyre roar for you.

Thank you all for the welcome and specially thank you mannyo and KenONeill for the tips. That tire idea didn't come to mind.
