Looking for a new toy!! Help me PLEASE!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Ive had my furby RS for nearly a year now and love it to bits. Im looking for a second car, something for the weekends. I do alot of miles for work which im keeping the furby for.

Im 19 have nearly 3 years no claims and a clean liecence. What should I get? It needs to be:

Fast

Fun to drive

RWD or AWD

Im not worried about practicality, MPG, running costs as I will only be doing a few thousand miles a year. Insurnce needs to be under £2500 a year fully comp which will be the main draw back. Just need some advice on how to get insured cheaply on a performce car. Tried researching it but didnt find much.

Cheers,

Josh

mx5. mx5 or an mx5 , serious fun at sensible speed.

Not sure how much cash you have to play with so here's a couple of suggestions

Mk1 or Mk2 escort Twin cam, RS1800, Mexico. BMW 318i, 323i compact.

Not much to choose from these days unless you have plenty of dosh for something like a Caterham, Westfield. Old Subaru's & Evo's are cheap to buy but could end up with mega repair bills.

Well I have around 10K for the car, BUT its the insurence im worried about. Ide love a scooby or an evo.

Kit car style things may be the best route as that sort of insurance can be cheap and youd get a very fun car for it?

Origanal Lotus elise is my suggestion

Not sure if its in budget, but what about a Caterham. Hired one out for the day a few weeks ago and it was great fun.

Cheers guys. Im going to ring around some of the insurence companys and get some quotes. Its a toss up between a kit car and a S14. If i get a limited mileage agreement and dont use it for work it bring the premium down alot.
